children and staff reunited with staff and loved one. there were several fatalities at the scene, students and staff. there's no information relative to that. there's being released at this time. until we made a complete and proper notification. the shooter is deceased inside the building. there's a great deal of work that is undertaken immediately upon locating the shooter and there's a great deal of search warrant activity, a great deal of law enforcement activity both in and out of state to ensure we cover all the bases relative to that specific individual. suffice it to say the scene is secure. state police major crime squads, danbury state's attorney and many agencies are working together to answer all of the questions surrounding exactly what happened. >> that's, again, the very latest of state police there in connecticut. pete williams, our justice correspondent, also reporting that a second suspect is in custody. we are told a suspect is being questioned with the shooting. we don't know his relationship is to all of this. amanda ross is with wvit, nbc affiliate in that ar

we have had for the last two years briefly so you kind of have an idea of what has been doing on at this location. the first one is, this is february 16, 2011, and this was at 2:00 a.m.. and i will read you the cad briefly. inside of naan-n-curry restaurant. a concern about an agent x. let's see. it says, that she is disoriented, took her into the restaurant and bought some items and she has been acting weird. this was february the 16th, 2011. this is march the 25th, 2011. this is an assault that occurred. and it says, a group of asian males, females, harassing, and tried to hit her and that is in march. >> what time was that? >> this was at 9:00 in the evening. >> there is another cad report, this is october 27th, 2011. at 6:00 p.m. they had a trespasser at naan-n-curry. >> we have january 1st, 2012. and this is at 4:00, 4:44 in the morning. and the cad reads, naan-n-curry 8:11, intoxicated subjects outside, possibly waiting for rp to come out to start a fight. subjects are five indian males and one female. in clothing, no weapons seen. >> another incident that happened, this is ma

calls came in. that there had been a shooting at sandy hook elementary school. it takes 45 minutes to get there from new york. we're told at this hour that there are at least 27 dead. the shooter believed to be carrying four weapons. 24 years old. was wearing a bulletproof vest entered the school and began firing. that shooter is deceased. we don't know if there was more than one shooter involved. we certainly don't know too early to say what could have been the motive for such a heinous crime and to put this into perspective, what you're watching unfold today will be the deadliest shooting at an elementary school in america history, the second deadliest shooting behind virginia tech, as you remember, we all followed that closely. more than a dozen shot and killed in columbine. but today, the numbers are simply staggering. at least 27 shot and killed. and many of the victims are children. i was struck by the description earlier, simply reminding us of what we all know as we take the kids to school, schools are often made up long hallways with classroom doors. unfortunately, that's the

the screen says 26. according to justice correspondent, 27 dead right now. at least 18 of them are children. it's a fairly -- in addition to beyond sad, incomprehensibly sad, just as complex. over the past hour, we found out that 24-year-old ryan lanza, he was found shot to death. in the school. we also found out that some family member, one of ryan lanza family members shot to death at a home nearby in newtown, connecticut. a search warrant is being conducted in hoboken, new jersey. that's where he lived. we know that shortly after 9:30 this morning, walked in to the mother's kindergarten classroom and opened fire. he killed her an he also killed at least 18 children. that's the latest. we'll continue right now. south bay.next at 5. a huge industrial fire sends a cloud of smoke over the south bay. these sky7hd pictures from abc7news show firefighters pouring water on the flames. at 9:30 or so this morning, shots rang out as at least one gunman entered that school and that gunman is dead. as police have been telling us now, 20 children dead, 18 of them dead at the scene. and in addition to that, six adults are also dead, including the principal of the school. we understand that yet another adult was found dead at another location that police are not officially disclosing as of yet. and we are told that the mother of the suspected shooter, who is also dead at the scene, was also killed. she is a teacher and she was also killed at that school, according to our law enforcement sources. in addition to this, we are also told by our sources that another person is being questioned at this time but is not being called a suspect right now, and also that person is not being identified, wolf. so while the school is being called secure and safe by law enforcement authorities right now, they are -- they still have a lot of investigating to do. they have not officially released the name of the shooter or the other person being questioned or the names of any of the vi

number of orders they are receiving and looking at books and feeling discouraging. we have the latest findings of the survey of business and sentiment. break down the numbers for you. >> analysts estimates were in the negative. even so the actual figure we're seeing is on the weaker side of those estimates. major manufacturers in japan say business sentiment is getting worse. that's according to the latest quarterly report by the country's central bank. the bank of japan released on friday it's quarterly survey of short-term business confidence. nearly 11,000 companies up were covered by the poll. the headline index stood at minus 12, down 9 points from the previous survey in september. it also records two consecutive quarters of worsening sentiment. the main factor for the decline is poor exports of auto and other economies due to the european downturn and cooling ties with china. another negative factor is the drop in domestic car sales because state subsidies for buyers of fuel efficient cars expired in september. for the nonmanufacturing sector the sentiment index was down by four
